Mass arrests of Tamils in Colombo

Over one hundred Tamils were arrested by the Sri Lanka Police during a cordon and search operation in Wellawatta, Bambalapitiya and Dematagoda, suburbs of Colombo last night said sources.
The Police conducted house-to-house search operation and interrogated several hundred Tamils the sources said.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Colombo, T.N.T.Silva said those arrested are being interrogated at the police stations in Colombo.
The security forces have recently intensified search operations in Colombo. The police say they have received information that 'Black Tigers' have infiltrated the capital.
